Solar Financing

I’ll Bet You $100 That Solar Makes Financial Sense For You

Yes, you read that right. We at NATiVE Solar are betting you $100 that financing a solar system makes sense for you.

You may ask, “How can this be? Last time I looked at solar, it was expensive”.

So here is what has changed. First, the cost of a solar system for your home has dropped 65% in the past ten years; a system that cost $50,000 in 2008 costs just $18,000 today. Much of that cost savings has come from material and labor savings due to the increase in efficiency and decrease in cost of solar panels.

The second thing that has changed is the availability of long term, low interest, financing products. Ten years ago, there were very few companies willing to finance a solar projects. Now, we have lenders that are very comfortable extending 20 year loans to finance solar.

Mix these two together and that brings us to our wager. We bet that we can show you a way to install solar on your house that requires no money down and will cost the same or less than what you currently pay on your utility bill.

If we can’t show you a cash neutral way to put solar on your home, we’ll pay you $100. If we can, then you win by investing in an energy producing asset that will add value to your home and put money in your pocket as utility rates increase. You are turning a mandatory monthly expense into an investment!

It is a win-win. If you would like to take us up on this, schedule a visit with one of our solar consultants. They will look at the specific details of your roof, electrical service and utility company policies to produce a custom solar proposal for you.

As for the strings attached to this bet (you knew there would be some):
You must own your home and have at least 500 sq. ft. of continuous, unshaded and structurally sound roof facing east, west, or south. You must qualify for financing which typically requires at least a 660 FICO score. Your home’s electrical system has to be able to readily accommodate a solar interconnection. You must be paying at least $0.08/kwh for your energy.
